We do camp differently than everyone else. At AWA, we believe a good summer camp keeps a stick in the hand of the player throughout the summer. This helps with learning and skill retention. This summer AWA Lacrosse will be hosting a 5 week camp for different skill levels (Beginner & Intermediate/Advanced). The camp will be on Mondays and Wednesdays 6pm-8pm in the Woodstock area.
Each of the camps will be instructed by collegiate players from Reinhardt University (2024 NAIA National Champions), Young Harris College (2024 Conference Carolinas runner up), Newberry College, and Life University.
*Each player must have a USA Lacrosse number to participate. If your player needs a USA Lacrosse number or needs to renew a membership, please use the link below.
The beginner's camp or fundamental skills camp will be for players with less than 2 years of experience and players that need to develop strong fundamentals. Coaches will focus on the fundamentals of cradling, throwing, catching, shooting, defensive positioning, and draw/draw circle with every player to ensure the player has a firm grasp of the game. The fundamental camp will build a strong foundation for any player that is new (less than 2 years) or wants to begin lacrosse in the fall.
The intermediate to advanced camp will be for players that can throw, catch, and shoot consistently while running with the ball. There will be "Shake School" style movements/dodges associated with the intermediate to advanced camp. The advanced camp will provide advanced drills for draw control, shooting, and defensive movement.
